Heart disease costs should triple over the next 20 years
One of the leading causes of death in the United States, heart disease, continues to terrorize Americans. So much so, that the monetary costs associated with the disease are said to increase three-fold over the next 20 years. The new costs are estimated to be greater than $800 billion per year.
The American Heart Association believes the primary reason for the increase will be caused by working to treat high blood pressure and the costs associated with it.
Based on current estimations, America should be spending near $400 billion every single year on high blood pressure alone by 2030.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in most countries, including the United States. Nearly 40 percent of all adults are estimated to have heart disease by the year 2030.
Experts explain the key to reducing heart disease is eating a healthy and nutrition diet, and making sure to live a physically active lifestyle.
Many health officials believe additional educational material needs to be readily available to the public to promote nutritious food and exercise.
